Do you ever have those days when you just wake up ready to tackle the day? You have a running list of all the things you need to do that day and you are ready to knock them out immediately? Some of you wake up like this every single day. I do not. But on this day, I did. I put on my gym clothes, grabbed my purse and ran out of the house. I didn’t even wake up my husband to say goodbye, as my plan was to complete my list before he woke up.
On my way to the gym, I decide that I want to do something nice for my family (who would be visiting that day to attend a sporting event). Fifty five minutes later I check out with some T-shirts and sweatshirts for that night’s event. I have decision-making problems. Colors, sizes, fabrics- it’s just too much.
Driving to the gym, I realize how hungry I am. Well, I have been known to faint before. I should probably have something in my stomach before I work out. Hmmm. What is quick and cheap and won’t make me sick… Then is see the big yellow M. I pull up to the drive thru. I can’t possibly order something just for me and not bring something home for my husband! That would just be rude. I order two breakfast sandwiches. “Your order is $7.22 at the first window.”
I pull up with my credit card in hand. The nice young gentleman opens the window. “Your total is $7.22,” as he glances at me. He quickly does a double take and exclaims “Girrrrrrrrrrrrl your total is $7.22, but you a 10!” Ha. That made me laugh and blush. I honestly didn’t even know what to say, sitting there with my messy bun, workout clothes and car full of Walmart bags. I say thanks with a smile.
As I drive away, I can start to feel my daily caffeine headache coming on. I can’t possibly work out with what is soon to be a splitting headache. I better get some coffee.
As I go to pay with my Starbucks gift card, I am informed that I am a “Gold Cardholder” and I qualify for a free drink. NO WAY! My mom called me and told me they’re an hour out. I knew I had to go home and get ready.
I may not have made it to the gym, but hey, at least I know I am a McDonalds 10!
I’m loving it.
